The concentration in Spanish requires completing a minimum of eight courses (30 credits) with at least six of those courses at a level above SPA 1040 Intermediate Spanish II .
Core courses. Majors and minors with a concentration in Spanish are required to take GCS 2000 Introduction to Cultural Studies after they take SPA 1510 Composition & Culture or SPA 1520 Latin American and Spanish Contemporary Film and before they proceed to upper level courses. Depending on whether the course is being taught in the Spring or the Fall, majors and minors may be allowed to take an upper level course before taking GCS 2000 Introduction to Cultural Studies . Majors and minors will be required to do all their work for GCS 2000 Introduction to Cultural Studies in Spanish, so that it counts as a Spanish course.
