DSE 4620 - Advanced Sports Analytics

Students will learn how data science is used in the sports industry including baseball, basketball, and football. They will apply analytical techniques including multiple regression, classification, and machine learning algorithms to the analysis of data sets about player performance as well as business models. Students will be introduced to professionals in the sports world and will be prepared to meet entry-level requirements for data analytics roles in the field. Students will code in R, Python, Tableau, and SQL. This is an advanced data science course with multiple prerequisites.
