THR 3530 - Stage and Production Management

This course will introduce the fundamental roles and responsibilities of the stage manager and production manager (SM & PM). Students will gain knowledge of the theory and practice of SM & PM work through hands-on experience, in-class activities, individual and group project-based work, and discussions with professional theatrical managers. Topics include organization, interpersonal relations, leadership skills, documentation, and the production process. Finally, the class will introduce students to employment opportunities available in arts management and culminate with the creation of a professional resume.
