EXS 3308 - Biomechanics with Integrated LabCredits: 4 Formerly: SME3308 The scientific factors affecting human movement are studied. Basic tissue, (bone, cartilage, ligament, tendon) influences are presented and correlated with foundational biomechanical principles. Both are then integrated into a regional approach to understanding normal movement patterns with consideration of gait, fitness activity, performance analysis, and disability. Clinical cases and in-class patient evaluation and observation are integrated to bring content to life. In the lab, teams will be established to achieve common goals. Existing video analysis systems and techniques will be used to both study human motion and to create a database of human motion. Three hours of lecture plus one laboratory period a week. Prerequisite(s): HSC 1122 HSC 1123 both with a grade of C or better, and PHY 2201 .
