PHY 2201 - General Physics I

First semester of a one-year introduction to physics, without calculus. Topics normally include vectors, kinematics, Newton’s laws of motion, work and energy, momentum, torque, statics, and circular and rotational motion.
Prerequisite(s): MTH 1000 or equivalent.
Corequisite(s): PHY2001L (concurrent enrollment)
Fulfills: Q and STEM requirements in LS Core.
Four and a half to five hours of integrated lecture, discussion, lab and group problem-solving a week.
