Major Requirements
The major in Spanish requires completing a minimum of 30 credits, consisting of a minimum of 8 courses with at least 6 beyond SPA 2020 .
Core courses. Majors and minors with a concentration in Spanish are required to take SPA 3200 (Introduction to Advanced Studies) after they take SPA 3010 or SPA 3020 and before they proceed to upper level courses. Depending on whether the course is being taught in the Spring or the Fall, majors and minors may be allowed to take an upper level course before taking SPA 3200 .
Study Abroad in Deusto (Bilbao). Students pursuing a major or minor concentration in Spanish are strongly encouraged to spend one semester at the Universidad de Deusto, in Bilbao (Basque Country). Students should talk to their adviser to prepare for the Study Abroad.
