The Post MSN Certificate in Nursing Education is for nurses with a Master’s degree in Nursing who wish to pursue careers in nursing education. This certificate will provide existing advanced practicing nurses with the knowledge, skills and competencies to serve as a nurse educator in either clinical or academic settings. Courses focus on teaching theory, curriculum development, assessment, and evaluation and simulation with 200 practicum hours for students to apply their knowledge.

Program Requirements

Complete the following five required courses:

  • NUR5310 Theoretical Principles & Innovative Teaching Strategies for Nurse Educators, 4 credits

  • NUR5320 Curriculum Development, Assessment & Evaluation for Nurse Educators, 4 credits

  • NUR5300 Simulation Teaching Principles for Nurse Educators, 2 credits

  • NUR6315 PMCNE Practicum I, 4 credits 

  • NUR6325 PMCNE Practicum II, 4 credits
