Economics, Environment and Sustainability is an opportunity for students to combine their knowledge of economics and environmental sustainability in a way to provide for a healthier planet for all. Economics, environment and sustainability is a transdisciplinary study of economics and environmental science that prepares students for understanding the relationships between politics, economics, society, and the major environmental challenges we face today. 

As an economics, environment and sustainability major, you will take a combination of courses from our Economics major and Environmental Science major. 

Major Requirements


The major requires a minimum of 7 core courses, 2 environmental elective courses, and 1 economic elective course.

Environmental Electives


Choose eight credits of elective courses from the following. No more than one course can be from the same department, unless they have an ESS prefix. Elective courses must be at the 2000 level or higher.
