CSC 1611 - Problem Solving with Python

Credits: 4
An introduction to computer science techniques with an emphasis on algorithm development and structured programming using the Python language. Topics include program development, data types, functions, conditional execution, recursion, and collections. Students should be aware of that this course is not an easy how-to-use Python course, but an “intensive” computer programming course involving scientific analysis and reasoning. Satisfies the mathematics and science (STEM) distribution requirement. Prerequisite: MTH 1000 or placing out of MTH 1000 on the math placement exam. Satisfies a Mathematics/Science distribution requirement. Fulfills a STEM requirement in LS Core.
Prerequisite(s): MTH1000 or placing out of MTH1000 on the math placement exam.
