ATR 6760 - Transition to Practice

This course prepares students to transition from an athletic training student into professional practice as a certified and licensed athletic trainer. This course is a continuation and accumulation of prior athletic training courses. Students will be introduced to advanced concepts related to leadership and the role of the certified athletic trainer, a provider in patient-centered care, an advocate for patients and families, and a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team. An emphasis is placed upon the utilization of evidence-based practice and informatics to promote safety and quality in healthcare delivery. This course also provides guidance to assist students in career development and planning.
