Credits: 1
This Professionalism and Experience course will serve as the initial platform for orienting all School of Education students to working professionally in the workplace and working towards finding a professional experience, such as an internship, field experience, practicum, or full time position. This one-credit course will build on the foundational knowledge from the Career Explorations course and prepare students for their internship, field experience, or full practicum course. The professionalism and experience course will focus on researching, applying, and securing an experience in the field for the following semester. Additionally, students will gain competencies in professional etiquette, workplace ethics, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), and gain first hand experience visiting and connecting with potential employers. Students will develop and update career documents, and will develop foundational skills to promote and ensure success in future workplaces.
