The goal of the Human Development & Human Services (HDHS) Professional Observation & Experience course is for students to increase their knowledge in their profession of interest through observation and hands-on experience with a working professional. Students may gain skills in observation, organization, documentation, clinical services and interprofessional collaboration. This course will focus on the experiences necessary for students to advance toward a degree, licensure, or certification in a specific professional field. Upon successful completion of this course, students will have developed career readiness skills and started their professional network of support. Minors in Communication Abilities across the Lifespan must complete a placement under the supervision of a Massachusetts-licensed speech-language pathologist who can provide ASHA observation hours.
