HDE 2221 - Addictive BehaviorsCredits: 4 The goals of this course are for students to develop a beginning competence in theories of addiction, understand how different substances affect the human body, and consider the social implications of addictions across different stages of human development and within the social structures of society. Students will become familiar with the stages of change model and other frameworks for recovery from addiction. Students will gain first-hand knowledge of some of the recovery methods being applied today. Prerequisite(s): HDHS/C/K majors; HDHS minors
