PSY 3130 - Sensation and Perception Lab

Credits: 4
The purpose of this course is to illustrate the importance of the human sensory and perceptual systems. We will explore each of the primary sensory systems by defining the physical energy each detects. We will then examine how that energy is transduced into neural impulses and how aspects of that information are encoded to provide a representation of our world. The goal of this course is to help you to understand the capabilities and limitations of the human perceptual system such that you will be able to apply the course concepts to your everyday lives.
Prerequisite(s): PSY 1100  and PSY 2110
