The purpose of the course is to earn an Adult Mental Health First Aid (AMHFA) Certification. Modeled after CPR course training and facilitated by a certified trainer, AMHFA teaches you the impact of mental illness in the U.S., risk factors and warning signs for depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use and psychosis, a five-step action plan to help an individual in crisis connect to professional help, and local resources available to offer support. You will leave the course with the ability to sit for the online examination to become a certified AMHFAer.
