ACC 4001 - Accounting Co-Op

Credits: 8
The accounting co-op course requires a three-way partnership: College-Student-Employer. The student is at the center of this arrangement in which they benefit from opportunities offered by both the College and the employer. The College offers credits and official support, while the employer gives the student an opportunity in the “real world.” Ultimately, the student is responsible for balancing the expectations of the two supervisors. Successful students are those who bring a mature and responsible attitude and remain flexible and realistic, seeking ways to balance the sometimes conflicting needs of school and co-op schedules. Co-op sites are arranged by the student through the Lucey Center for Business Advising, Merrimack’s O’Brien Center for Career Development, or a personal contact. A student completes and submits the co-op application to the Lucey Center, along with a resume, after they have located a suitable co-op. The student is registered for this course once the application is approved. Open to accounting major students with junior or senior standing.
Prerequisite(s): ACC 3303  , MGT 1150   and faculty consent
