ACC 3310 - Introduction to Accounting Information Systems

Credits: 4
This course provides an in-depth examination of accounting information systems (AIS) within organizations. Emphasizing the integration of accounting principles and information technology, students will explore the design, implementation, and management of AIS to facilitate effective financial reporting and decision-making processes. Topics include the role of AIS in business operations, internal controls, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and data analytics. Through case studies and hands-on exercises, students will develop skills in analyzing, designing, and evaluating AIS solutions to address real-world accounting challenges.
