VPA 1110 - Introduction to Visual and Performing Arts

This course is designed to introduce students to the history, breadth, and contemporary relevance of the visual and performing arts. Students will gain a clearer perspective of what visual and performing arts are/can be, more fully understand the interconnectivity of multiple mediums and artistic movements, and see how the visual and performing arts can influence and inform other academic areas of study not normally associated with the fine and applied arts. The course content, projects, and structure is based on the three fundamental pillars of an arts education: experience, create, and reflect.
