ESS 1060 - Environmental Science GatewayCredits: 4 Humans depend on the functioning of the global ecosystem to support our existence on this planet. However, many of our activities threaten this life support system. In this course, students will explore the impacts of human activity on the physical, biological, and chemical aspects of atmospheric, aquatic, and terrestrial ecosystems, with a focus on sustainability and stewardship. Emphasis will be placed on applied environmental issues that currently confront the planet from both a global and regional perspective. Topics will include climate change, renewable energy, water resources, biodiversity loss, and the linkages between these topics. Prerequisite(s): MTH 1000 Fulfills: STEM in LS Core
