HDE 2050 - Applied Infancy Development

Credits: 4
The goal of this course is to survey the field of infant development (from birth to three), its theories, and its methods. Students will explore what is known about typical and atypical development across the developmental domains including physical, language, cognitive, and social-emotional development. The course will provide a framework for students to understand how development occurs across these domains and how researchers come to understand these various aspects of development. Additionally, students will explore the role of culture and context and its influence on infant development.
Prerequisite(s): HDE 1000  or 1001
