ART 2230 - Intro to 3D: Form, Space, MaterialityCredits: 4 This course is an introductory level studio art course designed to introduce students to the principles of three-dimensional thinking. In this course, students will develop an understanding of the three fundamental principles of three-dimensional artwork: form, space, and materiality. These principles form the groundwork for all three-dimensional design, planning, and the building of forms in real space, such as: product design, sculpture, installation art, fashion, environmental art, and architecture. Through professor-led assignments, lectures, field trips, tool and material demos, and group critiques, students will utilize basic sculptural and fabrication processes and readily available materials to investigate three-dimensional making, ideas, and design.
