What is the best form of government? What does it mean to be treated as a free and equal person? What is the meaning of justice? This course serves as an introduction to political theory by surveying answers to these questions, and others, throughout the history of political thought. The course examines thinkers such as Plato, Machiavelli, Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, J.S.Mill and Rawls.
