HSC 3320 - Microbiology for Health Professions

Credits: 4
A study of the classification and physiology of clinically important microorganisms that cause human disease, including bacteria, fungi, protozoa, prions, and viruses. The role that microorganisms play in both health and disease and the human body’s response to invading microbes will also be discussed. Laboratory investigations will focus on aseptic techniques, commonly used techniques for collecting, handling, and studying clinically important microorganisms associated with human disease.
Prerequisite(s): BIO 1027  or BIO 1025 .
