CEN 4042 - Traffic Engineering

This course focuses on fundamental topics in transportation system engineering, including human-vehicle interaction, traffic data collection, analysis of traffic stream characteristics, capacity and performance measures of highways and signalized intersections, intersection control, design and analysis of traffic signal timing, signal coordination, parking, and safety. Shockwave theory, effect of merging, diverging, and weaving on highway flow, analysis of unsignalized intersection and roundabout are also discussed.
Prerequisite(s): C- in CEN 3030.
