PHY 2211 - Physics ICredits: 4 First semester of a one-year calculus-based introduction to physics, for students in engineering, chemistry, biology, physics, and others. Topics normally include vectors, kinematics, Newton’s laws of motion, work and energy, momentum, rotational and orbital motion, torque, angular momentum, and oscillations. Prerequisite(s): MTH 1217 or MTH 1016 with a final grade of B or higher and Corequisite: MTH 1217 Corequisite(s): PHY2001L (concurrent enrollment) Fulfills: Mathematics/Science distribution requirement. Q and a STEM requirement in LS Core. Four and a half to five hours of integrated lecture, discussion, and group problem-solving a week.
