MGT 5550 - Competition, Innovation and Strategic Advantage

Developing and implementing successful strategic innovations are requirements for achieving competitive advantage in most markets. This case-based course addresses how organizations deploy innovation strategies to create new markets and to compete in novel ways. Students will learn how to analyze the external environment and assess the capabilities of an organization to craft innovation-based competitive strategies. The case studies discuss important strategic decisions for value creation and appropriation, value innovation, business model innovation and digital transformation in the context of industry evolution and competition.
