MGT 5220 - Responsibility and IntegrityCredits: 4 Formerly: GMGT5220 This course is designed to prepare students to meet the challenges of conducting business and leading organizations in ethical and socially responsible ways. Students will learn ethical decision making frameworks in the context of supporting an organization’s triple bottom line ensuring economic, social and environmental success. This course examines a company’s strategy within the context of enacting socially responsible behavior. Additionally, the course will explore potential conflicts that occur while balancing multiple stakeholders.
At the individual level, students will explore their own leadership styles and qualities to support their professional development as globally minded leaders who make ethical and socially responsible decisions. Through the course, students will develop a deeper understanding of the interaction between personal leadership and corporate social responsibility in the context of global business activities, business ethics, stakeholder interests, strategic philanthropy, and sustainable business practices.
