PHL 4020 - Epistemology

This course examines the theories of knowledge and the problems associated with knowledge that have been and are being debated in the philosophical literature. Topics include the three traditional theories of truth: correspondence, coherence, and pragmatic.  Other topics include relativism, skepticism, foundationalism, reliabilism, naturalized epistemology, the problem of induction, and the myth of the given.  Area Requirement for Philosophy:  Knowledge

 
Prerequisite(s): Any 1000 level course in Philosophy  and another course in Philosophy or the permission of the professor.
