PHL 2100 - Ethical Issues Concerning Gender

This course explores ethical issues related to sex and gender with particular attention to how they are experienced in our society. Topics may include the gender wage gap, employment and workplace discrimination, sexual harassment and sexual violence, reproductive ethics and justice, gendered labor, and representations of gender and sexuality in media. The course involves critical analysis of these topics by applying philosophical ideas and perspectives on inequality and equality, gender stereotypes, gender roles and norms, sexism and misogyny, and objectification.
