CRM 2400 - Pre-Internship

This 1-credit course will provide essential career development tools and assist in making you competitive for an internship and ultimately, the workplace. You will learn how to develop a competitive resume and cover letter, become well versed at interviewing, and learn how to create an impactful LinkedIn profile. Students will research potential internships sites, develop a plan for finding an internship, and have individual meetings with the Internship Advisor to make a plan for securing a position to fulfill the internship requirement in Criminology. In addition to preparing for an internship, students will have the opportunity to explore in- depth the breadth and scope of career opportunities in the field of criminal justice. Specific careers will be explored through guest speakers. The pre-internship course is very condensed and practical, and students can adapt it according to their specific career interests and/or graduate school plans.
