SOC 3000 - Social TheoryCredits: 4 This course examines the classic origins of sociological thought in response to the emergence and conditions of modernity as found in the writings of Karl Marx, Emile Durkheim and Max Weber. Students will also explore the ideas and writings of contemporary theorists responsible for Conflict theory, Structural-Functionalism and Symbolic- Interaction. Prerequisite(s): SOC 1000 or consent of the instructor. Fulfills: SOSC in LS Core.
