FAA 2586 - Script AnalysisCredits: 4 Using formalist analysis as a starting point, this course examines the process of analyzing theatrical texts, with specific consideration for the needs of the actor, the director, and the theatrical designer in a theoretically practical situation. Through careful study of play texts from as early as 430 BC up to the present, students will utilize traditional classifications to analyze individual elements of a text in order to better understand their meaning and purpose in relation to the artistic whole and/or how the individual work relate to the corpus of a particular playwright.
