PHY 2201 - General Physics ICredits: 4 First semester of a one-year introduction to physics, without calculus. Topics normally include vectors, kinematics, Newton’s laws of motion, work and energy, momentum, torque, statics, and circular and rotational motion. Prerequisite(s): MTH 1000 or equivalent. Corequisite(s): PHY2001L (concurrent enrollment) Fulfills: Mathematics/Science distribution requirement. Q and a STEM requirement in LS Core. Four and a half to five hours of integrated lecture, discussion, and group problem-solving a week.
