Forensic Science Minor

The minor in forensic science employs an interdisciplinary approach to the social and physical sciences by providing students with an understanding of the foundational concepts associated with the application of scientific techniques to forensic investigations and the criminal justice system.

This minor is designed to prepare students for future graduate education or additional training and certification in specialized fields within forensic science, such as criminal investigation, evidence collection, behavioral analysis and/or laboratory analysis.

The forensic science minor requires the completion of 24 credit hours, which consists of two required criminology and criminal justice courses (eight credit hours) and three required chemistry courses (12 credit hours). The remaining four credit hours come from one elective course in criminology and criminal justice.
