Important Notice
As of fall 2017, the concentration in international business is being renamed global management. Students who are graduating Spring 2018, Fall 2018 or Spring 2019 will graduate from the former international business concentration. 

 

The international business studies program is designed for students who wish to integrate proficiency in a foreign language and understanding of a foreign culture with managerial excellence in international business. With the counseling of a faculty advisor, students cluster electives around an interest in international business as a field of academic inquiry. Study abroad is strongly recommended (although not required) for all students concentrating in International Business.

In addition to satisfying the college’s general education requirements and the cognate and core requirements for the major in business administration, students concentrating in international business studies must complete the requirements listed below.

Take one of the following economic classes:

Modern Language Minimum Requirement


Completion of two intermediate level (2010 and 2020) or above in a modern language.
(Students with a documented primary language other than English are strongly recommended to take two (2) English classes that will substitute for the above Modern Language requirement. This must be approved in advance by the Director of International Business.)

Culture Requirement


One course chosen from the Modern Languages cultural course list or the following:

  • COM 3231 - Intercultural Communication

Philosophy


Political Science


Psychology


Religious Studies


Sociology


  • SOC 1001 - Principles of Sociology
