PHL 2730 - Philosophy of Psychology

Credits: 4
A critical examination of the philosophical issues related to psychology. With an emphasis on cognitive and developmental psychology, this course will include such topics as: concept formation, language acquisition, metaphors, reductionistic vs. holistic explanations, emergence, and creativity. This course will isolate and evaluate the metaphysical and epistemological assumptions made by psychologists today.   Area Requirement for Philosophy:  Knowledge
